Intensive In-Home Outreach Services

Family therapy for children with serious emotional disturbance, severe behavioral disorders or substance use problems

Family focused, strength based, and outcome driven
Culturally diverse and sensitive
Delivered in the least restrictive environment

Intensive In-Home Outreach serves children who:

  • Meet the criteria for “serious emotional disturbance”;
  • Become at risk for out-of-home placement in residential facilities, juvenile detention, or foster homes;
  • Have not been successful with outpatient therapy; or
  • Are being considered for transition back to their home community with their biological or foster family. 

Services include:

  • Comprehensive 5-10 hour assessments using multisystems concepts 
    to determine level of mental health risk and need;
  • Emergency & crisis counseling 24 hours/day, 7 days/week;
  • 5-20 hours per week of individual and family counseling in the family’s home
    or school, provided by Masters Level therapists certified in
    Multisystems Therapy (MST);
  • Monthly progress reports;
  • Service coordination with other agencies, as appropriate. 

Referrals to In-Home Intensive Outreach Services can be made by a current outpatient mental health therapist, school system, or county Family Assessment and Planning Team. 

Fees are covered by Medicaid, county Comprehensive Services Act (CSA) funding, or special grant funding.
