Building Bridges…Strengthening Families…
Connecting Communities
Our Prevention Services Division offers an extensive range of programs and services to youth, families, and communities. Each youth prevention program and service is evidence-based and proven to be effective. We offer creative, informative, and skill-based programs, classes, trainings and workshops that support individuals and families in leading healthy, successful and productive lives.
The role of Prevention is to create healthy communities in which all people are able to live a life of meaning, community, health, and quality. We are promoting healthy communities at work, in schools and homes by connecting civic groups, family and friends. We are promoting drug and crime free environments by providing drug and violence prevention programs.
Prevention programs empower families and communities in preventing substance use, violence, child abuse, school failure, juvenile delinquency, premature sexual behavior, teen pregnancy and suicide. Youth and their families gain knowledge and learn new skills to become productive members of their communities.
Through the multi-phase process of assessing community needs, building community capacity, preparing strategic plans, implementing and evaluating prevention programs, the Prevention Services Division is able to reach out and effect change on a community and regional level.
Some of our programs and services are grant-funded and can be offered at no charge. However, we do charge fees for many of our prevention programs, services, trainings and workshops. Please call our office for more information.
